Dear Tennis Friends,

I am very pleased and excited to officially announce to the membership of the sale of the Marion Indoor Tennis  business to Mr. Karsten Rathlev.  Karsten has worked at the club as an assistant professional over the last seven years. He is well liked and respected by the juniors and adults alike.  I am excited to have Karsten take over the club, as he will add a new fresh perspective and he has many new ideas to improve and expand the programs of the club. Karsten is currently the Men’s Head Tennis Coach at UMass Dartmouth a position which he has held for 4 years and he is also been the Tennis Professional at Willowbend Country Club for the past 5 years.

I am very grateful the Burr family for the opportunity to lease the Marion Indoor Tennis club over the past eight years. Their strong support of the tennis community of the Marion area should be recognized. 

My tennis teaching career began 43 years ago and I wouldn’t change a thing.  I have enjoyed living my dream of teaching tennis as a career. This is the time for me to step back and enjoy time with my family and get busy on my bucket list.  I have worked at all the best tennis clubs in the area and have made many friends and worked with some of the very best people in the business. Most of all, I want you to know I appreciate all of you, the tennis players of Marion and surrounding towns, for your support and friendship over the past 20 years. I hope to see you all around the club. I am planning a special event with Karsten once all the courts are set. The details with be announced over the next few weeks.

I will be at the club over the next couple of weeks helping Karsten where I can. I hope you all support him like you did me, and help him continue to grow the club. 

One way to help Karsten is to fill out the form for your contract groups available on the website under the  Membership button, just click on Fees on the drop down menu. You may also print out a helpful worksheet under the same Fees button to help you with the breakdown of your group. If you bring your completed form to the club your first night it will make the billing process much easier for the staff.

Don’t forget to register you children ages 4-18yrs  for all the Junior Programs. Registration beginning this Monday September 17th at 9:00am. Clinics will begin the week of October 8th.

With the amazing new Pro-Cushion surface, and our new backdrops, divider nets and our usual great lights, your club will be the finest indoor facility  in the area. It should be a great season at Marion Indoor Tennis!
